The mining and metals industry uses many materials handling equipment including conveyor systems and pipeline to transport both solid products and liquids. PINHOLE LEAK (3MM) ON CAST IRON UNDERGROUND PIPE
An 8” cast iron underground pipe was facing 3mm hole leak and SealXpert products were applied to solve the problem successfully and effectively without shutdown.First, the pipe surface was cleaned of dirt and debris. Thereafter, Seal Stic Quick Cure Steel Epoxy was applied onto the leak area using SealXpert stainless steel clips. After the leak was arrested, additional Seal Stic Quick Cure Steel Epoxy was applied area the affected leak area.Thereafter, SealXpert Repair Putty was applied around the pipe circumference with approximately 450mm length. After allowing the SealXpert Repair Putty to be cured for around 1 hour, the pipe was eventually reinforced with Wrap Seal PLUS Fiberglass tape.

CARBON STEEL CORROSION
The pipe is severely corroded with many leak clamps installed. First, the pipe surface was cleaned of loose debris and roughened to provide good surface profile. Thereafter, SealXpert Repair Putty was applied onto the severely pitted pipe surface for rebuilding. Upon curing, Wrap Seal Plus Resin and Activator was applied over the pipe surface to provide corrosion protection. Finally, Wrap Seal PLUS Fiberglass Repair Tapes was wrapped around the pipe to reinforce the pipe wall thickness
